A monument to three-times Academy award winning American actor and director Woody Allen was opened on Wednesday,December 2nd,2010 in Russia’s westernmost city of Kaliningrad on the Baltic. The opening of the monument was timed for the actor’s 75th birthday. The reason to open a monument to Woody Allen in Kaliningrad comes from Woody Allen’s real name which is Allen Stuart Konigsberg, just like Kaliningrad, formerly Konigsberg of German Prussia. People can look at the world through bronze Allen`s spectacles fixed on the monument at the height of 157 centimeters which is exactly the height of Woody Allen.It is reported that Woody Allen knows about the monument that was opened in Kaliningrad and plans to visit the city shortly.
