A Kiev judge has adjourned the corruption trial of Ukraine’s former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko until October 11, 2011. The court is set to give its verdict on the same date. Tymoshenko is charged with abuse of office in relation to a 2009 gas deal with Russia. State prosecutors say she was not authorised to sign the contract with Moscow and that the price paid was too high. They are seeking a seven-year jail term for Tymoshenko.

Oleksandr Pylyshenko, an artist and a smith from the town of Vasilyevka, Zaporizhia region, who owns a private mini zoo, is going to live 35 days in an open-air cage with two lions.On August 2, he settled in an open-air cage with a lioness, specially equipped with a toilet and a shower, and also a wooden flat bed for sleep.The pair of lions, lioness Katia and lion Samson, are for the time being in the neighbouring cages, because the lioness is about to breed young ones and Oleksandr will deliver.Oleksandr`s life in the cage with a lioness will be shown in the online mode on the zoo website.During his staying in the cage Oleksandr Pylyshenko is indenting to paint pictures and then sell than and then will spend the proceeds and sponsor money on building a zoo to breed endangered species of animals.He also intends to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records if lives with the lions for 35 days.
